The Pineal Gland is also known as the Third Eye.
Scientists are only really beginning to unravel the mysteries surrounding the tiny endocrine gland, known as the pineal gland or Third Eye.
The pineal gland is small yet powerful. One of its roles is the secretion of melatonin, which regulates our sleep and wakefulness routines. Melatonin is also an anti-oxidant which slows the aging process, as well as protecting the body from the effects of electromagnetic pollution. Another function is the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates moods and the feeling of well being.
Tiny, yet vastly powerful, the 'Third Eye' is a conical, pea-sized gland in the centre of the brain.
There is research to suggested that the pineal gland also produces a substance called DMT (N, N-dimethyltryptamine). This substance is present in certain plants which create hallucinogenic effects when ingested. It is believed that the pineal gland produces DMT during mystical experiences, as well as during the birth and death process.
The pineal gland is sometimes referred to as the ‘seat of the soul’ or the Third Eye, linking it to spiritual awareness, as well as creativity, dream states, visualisations and out of body experiences. It is the part of us which ‘sees’ and intuits from beyond the conscious mind.
The pineal gland is a means to becoming aware of and tapping into our spiritual power. Unfortunately, due to environmental, dietary and emotional toxins, the pineal glands of many people have become compromised.
Research has recently discovered that chemicals and pesticides in foods, nano-particles in the environment and added fluoride in water supplies, as well as any other toxins present in the 21st century world can result in calcification within the body. This is the build up of calcium phosphate crystals and one place which is particularly affected is the pineal gland.
In fact in some people, the entire gland is already calcified. Obviously this has a huge impact on the individual trying to tap into esoteric capabilities.
It is possible to revive this precious gland’s function and here are some food supplements which can help in doing so:
1. Iodine:
Iodine, naturally occurring in plants such as seaweed, effectively improves the removal of fluoride via urine.Other than taking supplements and eating seaweeds, you can boost your iodine levels by eating an organic diet rich in foods like kale, broccoli, oranges, almond, flax and sesame seeds, dried herbs.
2. Oregano Oil and Neem extract
Assist in the detox process and help to de-calcify the pineal gland. Excellent for the whole endocrine system.
3. Raw Cacao
Raw, organic chocolate in its purest form can help detoxify the pineal gland because of cacao’s high antioxidant content. Cacao will also help stimulate the third eye.
4. Chlorophyll-Rich Superfoods and leafy greens
Spirulina, chlorella, wheatgrass and blue-green algae are even more potent than greens in their chlorophyll content. As well as having many other nutritional benefits, superfoods are also excellent in assisting the detox process and, as a result, the decalcification effect on the pineal gland. Herbs like coriander and parsley are also excellent detoxifiers when it comes to heavy metal contamination in the body.
5. Raw apple cider vinegar
A great way to start the day is with a shot of apple cider vinegar. As well as other health gains, particularly for the digestive system, drinking the vinegar provides a substance called malic acid which has powerful detoxification effects and can help with the decalcification of the pineal gland.
6. Fasting
Another way to assist detoxification and decalcification of the pineal gland and body as a whole is by fasting. Abstinence, for a period of time, from any potential sources of toxins allows the body time to repair and rejuvenate. Time which would be spent on digesting food and battling toxins can be spent repairing systems which need attention. Fasting has long been used as a spiritual practice and many people who fast experience the clarity, focus and inner peace it brings.
